Walking Lightly is Noeleen Watson’s first book of poems. On a journey of self-discovery, Noeleen realises her true potential as she finds she has a gift of putting words on paper that create something special.
Living in Glenageary, Co. Dublin, Noeleen is a mother to four children and grandmother of a little boy. It seems that Noeleen was born to be creative as she is also a graphic designer. She also enjoys taking photos while out walking and connecting with nature.
Noeleen has been inspired by her many friends, her family and people who have helped and encouraged her along the way. She now works to inspire others to realise their own potential. She is an advocate for Aontas, inspiring people to return to education.
Walking Lightly told me a story from beginning to end. A story of someone who perhaps felt invisible to the world around them. Someone who felt lost and unsure of their path in life but shows a resilience to survive in a world of uncertainty.
Noeleen writes her free verse poems with heartfelt emotion and sincerity. As I read them, I felt myself entering her world of love and imagination. I felt a sense of warmth and comfort.
Noeleen finds inspiration and positivity through connecting with nature as well the people she comes into contact with. She transforms her thoughts into meaningful words that speak softly to the heart. Words that convey an important message to the reader. A message of hope, faith and joy.
Nature has ways of healing the spirit and when nature and poetry come together, it is medicine for the soul. Many of the people in our lives bring us joy and encouragement and Noeleen reminds us of this in some of her poems.
The 62 pages of Walking Lightly also encourage joy, playfulness, love and laughter. On days when you lack enthusiasm, there are words in this book that will uplift your spirits and take you into a world of love and simplicity.
